Aims of the department

This department  aims to:
 
  • Prepare engineers to work in different economic and service sectors in the field of mechanical engineering. Also, qualify them to have a high level of knowledge and skills for keeping updated with sciences and technics.
  • Support and engage in thescientific researches and studies that are related to the faculty specialization especially which aim to find solutions to problems facing economic and social developments in Syria and Arab worlds.
  • Support the scientific researches that are related to the faculty’s specialization and cooperate with scientific, industrial, and service institutions to find the suitable solutions to the problems in these institutions.
  •  
  • Develop the tools and manners of research and education including editing, developing, and translating university curriculums and establishing the necessary laboratories for scientific researches.
  • Supporttraining and qualifying courses through holding short courses and training courses for graduates. Also, support continuous learning.
  • Support students’ skills that are necessary to build the society.
  • Build students’ personality socially and scientifically to have the desire to learn and conduct scientific researches and have the ability to thinkcreatively and work within a group for qualifying them to use the latest informatics inventions and their industrial application.
  • Guide students to choose the best activitiesto develop themselves.
  • Support the cultural, technical and social activities.
  • Strengthen the cultural and scientific relations with universities and scientific councils.
  • Build a high level of interaction between the college and society.

Conditions of acceptance

  • Having a scientific baccalaureate by 2140 out of 2400 degree at least.
  • Applying to the system of the university’s acceptance.

Preferable skills

Graduates will be able to:
 
  • Apply their knowledge and practical experiences in the fields of designing, operating, and maintaining equipment in factors and industrial, production, and service sectors.
  • Recognize parts of machines and mechanisms of motion.
  • Have Knowledge in mechanical properties of materials (tempering – annealing – backward – coordinating ).
  • Have knowledge in quality management and develop systems.
  • CAD (Computer-Aided Design).
  • Have knowledge in projects management and  industrial management.
  • Have Knowledge in  different manufacturing methods such as foundry and various methods, including traditional and precision, knowledge in the formation of minerals and metal cutting machines.
