Aims of the department
- The Economics Department aims to:
- Prepare and qualify students during university and postgraduate phases in the fields of theoretical and applied economics to meet the needs of labor market locally and globally.
- Qualify staffs who are able to put the economic policies and plans to develop the Syrian economic.
- Provide students with basic knowledge to conduct studies and economic researches.
- Improve students’ abilities to evaluate the effects of international and regional changes on different countries’ economic especially the Syrian one.
- Conduct economic researches for reaching to the required level in economic development.
- Build and develop student’s personality.
- Hold training courses responding to the society needs to necessary knowledge and skills.
- Strengthen the cultural and scientific relations with universities and scientific councils especially the Arabic ones.
- Build a high level of interaction between the college and society’s economic and social institutions to connect the university with society
Conditions of acceptance
- Passing the exam of foreign language.
- Having a good rated bachelor degree in Economics- Economics specialization- from one of the governmental universities in Syrian Arab Republic or from an equivalent faculty or institute authorized by the university council in the Ministry of Higher Education.

- The ability to prepare financial policies.
