Works independently within the powers conferred upon him in studying and designing gardens and parks, plants, determining the landscape design elements, programming the garden land work. Then, preparing the technical reports, managing of subordinators to develop their skills, developing procedures and providing requirements of occupational safety and health. Tasks are:- Study garden type, soil, trees and garden plants
- Study trees, buildings, formability shrubs, places and cultivating, forming dates, andadding some natural and unnatural landscape elements
- Programming land and Lawn preparation process, park landscaping, plant forming, plant trimming
- Programming park and landscaping maintain, irrigation, fertilization and pest controlling
- Identifying work materials, equipments schedule, and its qualification
- Prepare the air monitor equipments bid stipulations and study them financially and technically
- Prepare landscaping and designing technical reports
- Develop procedures and working methods using modern techniques
- Evaluate subordinates performanceto determine their training needs,anddevelop their skill
- Provide occupational safety and health requirements and safety procedures and requirements
Environment of work
- Working hours vary, but usually it is 40hours a week
- Work environments are diverse, in the office, in the field, at the nurseries, and parks tours
- This job requires the presence in the park most time for following up construction and agricultural progress, and this requires appropriate field dress
- Working independently is possible in case of experience consultation, particularly in home gardens landscaping designing , commercial buildings, hotels, resorts. schools, and hospitals.
- Full time job is required.
- This job can be carried out by men and women, especially in giving appropriate ideas for flowering plants color ordonnance.
- This career is in evaluation and need for appropriate work nature.
- This job requires sometimes to travel abroad for training , national and international fair attendance, in order to gain andgive other countries the experience.
Professional life
- Landscaping designer can work independently or as a team member within the powers conferred upon him in private or public sectors. His salary in public sector will be at least 20,000 Syrian bounds.
- When working as a team, the team supposed to be park multi-disciplinary, construction structural, architectural, electrical and watery standpoints. In addition to the total park worker serving team.
- Landscaping designers can use electronic programs for its easy using and giving suitable proposed different corners and directions designing.
- This job requires sometimes to travel abroad for training , national and international fair attendance, in order to gain and give other countries the experience in the field of landscaping designing

Getting the job
- For getting this job, the person has to study in Agriculture Faculty, Department of Essential Sciences, or Department of Rural Engineering, or Department of Renewable Natural Resources and Ecology. or Department of Horticulture.
- The students during that should get some related courses such as: Different Agricultural courses including Irrigation and drainage processes, forests trees, fruit trees, ornamental species, and different shrubs and grass plants. In addition to some practical agricultural, forestry, agricultural machines, and rural development courses and some supporting knowledge such as foreign languages, computer programming, engineering quality knowledge.
- Preferably, Agriculture Faculty graduated students pursue their graduated program studies in the Department of Rural Engineering, or Department of Renewable Natural Resources and Ecology. or Department of Horticulture to get their master's and Ph.D. degrees.
