Nature of work

This profession is considered to be  the link between academic supervisor of the engineering work and the technical designer. He/She helps the architect designer on presenting design technicians. He/She prepare technical reports, manage the employees and develop their skills.
  • The tasks assigned to Architect engineer assistant are as follows:
  • drawing architectural plans and interior details relating to interior design and furnishings, using the appropriate software engineering.
  • implement ting the volumetric internal and external models of the project.
  •  Studying  interior design, setting a schedule shows the sequence and time of implementation of the various phases of the project.
  •  monitoring the implementation of the design work.
  • In the administrative area:
  •  participating in  preparing terms of interior decoration and design and study of the technical and financial aspects of the project.
  • preparing the technical reports, and developing the working methods using modern techniques.
  • providing the means for Occupational Safety and Health.
In the field of education:
  • work in technological institutes and engineering faculties laboratories.

Environment of work

Architect design assistant works an average of 8 hours per day except at weekends. Sometimes he/she may work overtime when there is a field visit.
  • This profession does not need a special dress .
  • He/she can do some work in open places.
  •  He/she needs to complete his/her  work to a personal computer, as well as assistants.
  •  He/she can work solo through the his/her own establishment of.
  • He/she should fulfill the conditions of international standard specifications for materials used in the interior design in terms of type, color and quality manufacturing .
  • He/she must have credibility and integrity.

Professional life

  • Architect engineer assistant can work alone or within the team, both in the private sector or public sector.
  • The career  path develops when gaining practical and managerial experience.  He/ She may promote from  small departments to the largest one which mainly work in interior design projects.
  • He/ She can travel outside his residence to search for different models needed in work . He/ She also may travel to learn the modern charts in landscaping, techniques of modern materials and methods of their implementation. He / She sometimes travel to give experience in selecting the required material to work. He/ She also do some field visits to the shops and places of materials to help him/her  in searching for the best materials.

Getting the job

To enter this profession the candidate should have:
A diploma in interior design and a good knowledge in the following topics:
Architectural styles, Applied Arts, Color and Visual techniqs, Technical materials, Lighting and sound, Models, Reading and drawing various architectural plans, shadows and perspectives, Specialized engineering software, in addition to the ICDL certificate.
